About the Midwest National Championship

The COA Midwest National Championship is held at the newly renovated and extraordinary Greater Columbus Convention Center, located in the heart of the Short North Arts District in downtown Columbus – home to hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions all within easy walking distance! With multiple performance halls, innovative awards and superstar production, this is a COA tradition you won’t want to miss. Bids to the 2020 World Championships, The Summit, and The U.S. Finals will be awarded, and all division winners will take home the coveted COA National Champion jacket!

SPECTATOR SCHEDULES:
In an effort to conserve resources, we will not be providing printed schedules for spectators at
this event. Please be sure to check out our mobile site at https://www.varsity.com/coa/midwestnationals/
for the event’s Performance Order. The final Performance Orders will be posted on
the event page on the Friday prior to the event.

Housing Information

This event is Stay Smart Tier 1
In Tier 1, housing is required for all teams. Please contact Team Travel Source our OFFICIAL Housing Partner for assistance with setting up a room block for your team. You can also contact Team Travel Source directly at their toll-free number 1-866-567-7075.

Awards

Each participant will receive a commemorative medal!
Each winning athlete will receive a Champion Jacket!
Each Champion Team will receive a Champion Banner!
Each 1st-5th All Star team will receive a trophy!
Each 6th & below place All Star team will receive a plaque!
Each 1st-5th Prep team will receive a medium plaque!
Each 6th & below place Prep team will receive a small plaque!
Each Novice team will receive a team plaque and athlete medals!

Photography & Videotaping

For the safety and comfort of all attendees, no telephoto lenses over 200 MM are permitted.
Spectators are only permitted to take photos or videos from the VIP area of their
team/program after receiving permission from the Program Owner.

We will also have a professional photographer selling event photos!

Be A Fan Area

A VIP Area will be available for the fans of the team performing. The staff will monitor this area to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to utilize this space during each team’s performance. Please make sure you follow the flow of the space and move in and out quickly. Thank you for your cooperation in advance!

Concessions

Plenty of concessions at the venue will be made available to all athletes and spectators. No outside food or beverage may be brought into the facility.

Event updates and information, as well as fun posts and contests, will be ran throughout the
day on various forms of social media. We encourage you and your program to follow our social

Participants, coaches and spectators are not allowed to bring the following items into the
venue:

  • Pets (except approved medical use pets)
  • Posters/signage
  • Coolers/flasks
  • Laser pointer
  • Skateboards, roller skates, bikes, hover boards
