Your team may be focused on camp and practice now, but in the cheerleading and dance world, time flies. Before you know it, school will start back and it will be time to focus on SPIRIT! This year, bring new meaning to the word spirit by participating in National School Spirit Day on September 10, 2010, and you could win great prizes for your squad!
The goal of National School Spirit Day is to celebrate the leadership of spirit leaders from all over the country by showing what a difference you and your team can make in your school and community. Cheerleaders, dancers, mascots, and pep team members – we want you all to get involved in National School Spirit Day!
How do you get involved? The week leading up to the big day, we want you to get active in your community. You can visit a nursing home, dedicate time at a local hospital, take care of animals at an animal shelter, raise money for a charity organization – anything you do will make a difference the week of National School Spirit Day!

Once your team comes up with an idea, tell Varsity about it, and you will be entered to win one of these School Prize Packs from Varsity:
•
School supplies - If your team wins this prize pack, plan on making the faculty, staff, and students at your school very happy. Carolina Pads will donate $1,000 worth of school supplies to your school!
•
Cheer mats – If you don’t already have a great place to practice, we can give you one. A single roll practice cheer mat from Ross Athletic Supply will be given to your team if you win this prize!
•
New ways to raise school spirit – Raising school spirit has never been so easy. This prize pack contains 250 Rooter poms, 150 sets of Thunderstix, and a Power Break-Through Banner from Varsity Spirit Fashions. Get your fans off their feet this football season!
And that’s not all! Inside Cheerleading magazine is also selecting 10 of the inspiring stories to be featured in their magazine. Let us hear from you, and one of these prize packs or your very own feature story can be yours!
